Jocelyn White Creator and Executive Producer

Jocelyn White’s contagious enthusiasm is matched only by the passion she brings to her work. And her newest work, a 30-minute, upscale regional home and garden television program,
"Designing Texas," is testimony to her vibrant and innovative personality. White brings all her talents and experience to the table in what is proving to be a most successful venture and one of television's highest-rated entertainment venues.

A pioneer from the start, 19-year-old White was one of the first female television reporters in her native Arkansas. She moved to Texas in 1980, became the first "weathergirl" in the State, and the sixth woman in the nation to receive the American Meteorological Society's Seal of Approval. Described by Texas Monthly as "immediately mesmerizing the men of Dallas who had no interest whatsoever in the weather," Jocelyn White captivated the North Texas market with her bright eyes, sparkling personality, and infectious charm.

Over the past 24 years, White has moved from television weatherwoman, to arts and entertainment reporter, to local and national radio newscaster, to magazine journalist, to founder and president of her own video production company. Her newly acclaimed hit show, "Designing Texas," is quickly evolving into a multimedia empire. And this is just the beginning Jocelyn White¹s world is constantly on the move, and it shows.

She drives racecars, and rides horses and Harley Davidson motorcycles. She fly-fishes, skeet-shoots, reads romance novels, and bakes fudge brownies. It's no wonder that her personal motto is "Never boring, never bored." Despite all this activity, White finds time to give her heart and soul to her three goddaughters and her 12-year-old autistic nephew, Weston, whom she refers to as the "love of my life."

Even though White still claims her Arkansas roots, she is a fully transformed Texan. Combining the charisma of a Southern Belle with the determination of a corporate executive, White is a classic Texas lady. She remains tough and tender, resilient and steadfast, opinionated and open-minded all characteristics of a good Texan. "My essential Lone Star fashion statement is cowboy boots," laughs White. "But my favorite pair are those Daddy gave me some 20 years ago." A real cowgirl with true grit, White’s personal boot collection now totals more than 50 pair and in her high-spirited arena, this number is sure to grow.

A self-proclaimed workaholic, White makes time to engage in the world of others. She chairs big charity galas, emcees events, raises funds for nonprofit agencies, and serves on several boards. Among her favorite philanthropic organizations are The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Leeza Gibbons Memory Centers, The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA), and, of course, those working to advance autism research and enlightenment.

When White does manage to steal a few minutes from the hustle and bustle, the lights, cameras, and action, she can be found riding her horse on Mystic Acres in Kaufman, Texas, admiring the stars in Big Bend, basking in the small town flavor of the Hill County and Marble Falls, savoring the words of a Mark Chesnutt tune, or hosting an informal luncheon complete with homemade bread and spicy gazpacho.

Jocelyn White is a zealous entrepreneur, an Emmy and Katie award-winning print and broadcast journalist, a radio and television show writer, producer, creator, and host. One of her favorite Texas quotes is attributed to Alamo hero Davey Crockett: "I must say as to what I have seen of Texas, it is the garden spot of the world, the best land and the best prospects for health I ever saw, and I do believe it is a fortune to any man to come here." White has earned tremendous good fortune in the Lone Star State, and her vim and vigor radiate throughout each innovative venture. It definitely shows.
